The Laura O’Neill Remembrance Ball proudly sponsored by Haughton and Young limited in aid of the Gavin Glynn foundation, is going to take place on 30th June in Clontarf Castle.
Laura O’Neill was a bubbly, hilarious and courageous woman, who lost her battle with synovial sarcoma last September. Laura (Laz to her friends) was the life and soul of the party, from dancing in the local pub with her gals, to trekking down to Electric Picnic for a good time. A keen eye for fashion and a lover of life, this girl brought a smile to everyone she encountered. With family always being at the centre of Laura’s life, her younger brother Leon was definitely the apple of her eye.
The Laura O’Neill Remembrance Ball hosted by SPIN 1038’s Nathan O’Reilly will be a fun formal evening celebrating the life of Laura, and raising much needed funds for the Gavin Glynn Foundation.
During her illness Laura had a lot of empathy for young children who were battling Cancer, and knew the struggle of having to travel overseas to access treatment for her rare condition. The Gavin Glynn Foundation was set up in memory of Gavin Glynn, who was diagnosed with sarcoma at just 18 months old. Like Laura, Gavin travelled overseas from Amsterdam to Texas to receive treatment until he passed away in 2014 at the age of 4. This Foundation was set up to help all children, between the age of 0 to 18 years in Ireland with cancer who need to travel overseas for treatment.
When Laura was diagnosed with cancer she could have let her world crumble, instead she was an advocate of positivity and through her personal blog, cocktailsnchemo.blogspot.ie, making her rare condition known to the public and raised awareness on what it was truly like to live with cancer at such a young age. Laura’s inspiring story was featured on a number of media outlets from the Huffington Post, to The Irish Sun, to Evoke.ie.
The night will be a representation of everything Laura was, and what she loved.
Tickets will go on sale Friday 6th April at 12pm for €70 per per person plus booking fee via Eventbrite.

I try my hardest to remember everything happens for a reason, even if the reason is impossible to find sometimes.
